CYBEX EXTENDS BRAVO LINE; CREATES COMPLETE FUNCTIONAL TRAINING SYSTEM, OFFERS 38% GREATER STRENGTH GAIN OVER FREESTANDING CABLE SYSTEMS

MEDWAY, MA, September 13, 2011 – Cybex International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment, has introduced three new Bravo machines. The original Bravo Functional Trainer is now complemented by the Bravo Press, Bravo Pull and Bravo Lift. Taken together, the four machines represent the complete Bravo Functional Training system.

The Bravo Functional Training system is geared to scientifically drive results. The Bravo Functional Trainer, Bravo Press and Bravo Pull all utilize Progressive Stabilization, a patent-pending technology that allows users to adjust for height and horizontal position. “ The Bravo machines allow members to increase core strength and workload at the same time,” said Steve Suchanek, Director of Product Management at CYBEX. “Independent research conducted at the University of Massachusetts shows that Progressive Stabilization yielded a 212% increase in load capacity and a 184% increase in core activation. In addition, Bravo offers greater strength gain over freestanding cable systems. These numbers mean users can lift nearly three times more weight and get three times the core muscle activation. No freestanding cable device can match these results.”

The Bravo Press and Bravo Pull, derived from the original Bravo, are designed to break out movement types in a format that utilizes far fewer adjustments for simplified setup. The Bravo Lift is an all-new piece developed specifically to work with lifting patterns. The Bravo Lift includes a patent-pending feature called Free Start, which allows the user to select the desired starting height and to get to it with minimal load.

“With over 25 years of experience in sports training, we always want to be on the cutting edge. The CYBEX Bravo creates limitless training opportunities for both rehabilitation and intense athletic conditioning,” says Brett Fischer at Fischer Sports, Phoenix, AZ.

Given the Bravo Functional Training system’s unique, comprehensive approach to functional training and design-friendly footprint, noted Suchanek, it offers versatility in a number of environments, including fitness centers, personal training studios, college training facilities, sports performance centers, YMCAs/JCCs, rehab facilities and more. “The Bravo Functional Training system can be an excellent solution to functional training in personal training studios; it can act as a complete functional training zone in a commercial club, bring functional training tools to the weight room floor as an alternative to selectorized training and much more,” he added. “It’s a flexible system that works across an array of settings.”

DJ Bosse, Founder and CEO of Bosse City Club and Spa agrees, “The Bravo’s versatility is unmatched. It offers members a nearly unlimited number of unique exercises, all of which can be performed from a standing posture. It doesn’t get more functional than that.”
